Heat & Glo Gas Fireplace Service & Repair
The model and serial number are the starting point for dependable Heat & Glo service. If your fireplace will not light, turns off unexpectedly, has a remote that is not responding, or is overdue for maintenance, Efficient Fireplace Services can assess the appliance and explain the appropriate next steps. Daney has more than 12 years of hands-on gas-fireplace experience, including practical Heat & Glo training and field experience.
Our home base is Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, and we serve customers throughout the Lower Mainland. Call or text 778-697-1807 with your city and a description of what the fireplace is doing. You can also email Mapleridgefireplace@gmail.com.
Identify the exact fireplace before choosing a part
Heat & Glo makes gas fireplaces, inserts and other hearth products with different controls and service parts. A familiar symptom does not prove the same part has failed in every unit. The model and serial number help us check the correct manual and discuss parts for your particular appliance.
Heat & Glo says these details appear on the rating plate, generally in the controls area of a gas fireplace or insert. If you can safely photograph the label without dismantling the unit, send it along with a full photo of the fireplace. If it is hard to access, send the full photo and we can help identify the next step.
What to tell us
- Your city and whether the appliance is a fireplace or an insert, if known.
- The model and serial number if safely available.
- What happens when you use the wall switch or remote: no response, pilot activity, burner failure, shutdown or inconsistent operation.
- Any service history or error message you can see without opening the appliance.
Service, diagnosis and replacement
A Heat & Glo fireplace that needs routine care follows a different path from a unit that will not operate or one being considered for replacement. We first identify the exact appliance and customer goal, then explain model-appropriate maintenance, fault testing or the site assessment needed for a new installation.
Routine service and maintenance
We clean the glass, firebox, burner and logs as appropriate to the unit. We inspect the pilot, thermocouple and thermopile where fitted; check ignition and flame quality, gas connections and possible leaks, venting, fan, remote and thermostat; then test operation and safety systems. The exact tasks depend on the model and its condition. Explore gas fireplace service.
Troubleshooting and repair
We assess problems such as a fireplace that will not start, a burner that does not remain on, an unreliable remote, unusual soot, or an unexpected shutdown. Some Heat & Glo appliances use different ignition and control arrangements. We identify the model and test the relevant system before recommending a component. Parts availability and repairability are confirmed case by case. Explore gas fireplace repair.
Replacement and installation
If a repair is unsuitable or a necessary part cannot be sourced, we can discuss replacement. A site assessment establishes the appliance choice and any gas, venting, electrical, permit, removal and finishing work needed. We do not promise that a particular Heat & Glo model is available until supply and site requirements have been confirmed. Explore gas fireplace installation.
What happens during an appointment?
A Heat & Glo appointment begins with model and control identification and the symptoms you observed. Daney inspects and tests the installed appliance, explains confirmed findings and discusses an appropriate service, repair or replacement route. Agreed work is followed by applicable operating and safety checks; parts availability is model-specific.
- Identify: We confirm the model, serial number where available, fuel type, controls and symptoms.
- Inspect and test: Daney examines the appliance and relevant systems, including safe operation.
- Explain the options: We explain findings and the scope of service, repair or replacement before work proceeds.
- Verify: After agreed work, we check operation and describe any remaining limitations.
Manuals, controls and older appliances
Heat & Glo provides owner resources and model-specific manuals. Those documents help identify the controls and appropriate parts, but a manual does not replace an in-person diagnosis. On older or discontinued equipment, the exact model and serial number can be particularly useful when checking whether a matching part remains available.
Use Heat & Glo’s official model-manual search to find the owner instructions, installation documentation or service-parts information for the appliance. Match the complete model number rather than a similar-looking fireplace. Tell us which wall control or handset you use; we will explain what can be confirmed and what requires supplier follow-up. See how we assess fireplace components.
Independent service with clear responsibilities
Efficient Fireplace Services is an independent fireplace company. Our practical experience with Heat & Glo equipment does not mean we are a factory-authorized dealer or warranty centre. Daney is a Class B Gas Fitter; the business is insured and bonded. Completed service, repair and installation work carries a one-year workmanship warranty.
Parts and equipment remain subject to their manufacturer warranty terms. Learn more about our fireplace-only work.
Heat & Glo questions
Heat & Glo owners often ask whether a remote or receiver has failed, if an older fireplace is repairable and how manufacturer coverage differs from independent service. The exact model and control system matter. These answers provide a safe starting point, while component diagnosis still requires an assessment.
My remote stopped working. Do I need a new receiver?
Not necessarily. A remote symptom can have several causes, and the controls differ among models. Send the model number and describe what still responds before assuming a part needs replacement.
The pilot is on, but the burner will not light. Can you diagnose that over the phone?
The symptom helps us plan the visit, but it does not establish the cause. We need to identify and test the specific appliance before recommending a repair.
Can you work on an older Heat & Glo insert?
Yes, we accept requests for older gas inserts. We assess the unit and confirm whether suitable parts and a practical repair path are available.
Are you an authorized Heat & Glo dealer?
We do not claim manufacturer authorization. We provide independent gas-fireplace service and repair. If you need manufacturer warranty administration, confirm that pathway with the manufacturer or its dealer network.

Tell us what your Heat & Glo is doing
Tell us your city, Heat & Glo model and serial number if safely accessible, the normal control and what changes during operation. A clear full-unit photo helps prepare the conversation. Call, text or email; we do not ask you to dismantle sealed components or promise a diagnosis from a photo.
